NAVER Webtoon Hit 'Level Up 99 Wooden Stick' Confirmed for Theatrical Animated Film Production
[SEOUL, KOREA] – Namu Animation Co., Ltd. has officially announced the production of a feature-length
animated film based on the popular webtoon, "Level Up 99 Wooden Stick" (or "99-Reinforced Wooden Bat").
The company has formally entered into a Secondary Copyright Use License Agreement with the original
webtoon producer, Studio 389 Co., Ltd.
'Level Up 99 Wooden Stick' is a highly-acclaimed series currently serialized on NAVER Webtoon and
NAVER Series in Korea. The webtoon boasts over 300 million cumulative views and maintains a strong
international presence, building widespread recognition through its English-language service
on the global platform, LINE WEBTOON. Furthermore, with translated versions serviced in five countries,
the webtoon is recognized as premium content with excellent Intellectual Property (IP) expandability.
Namu Animation plans to develop the work as a coming-of-age animation based on the Game Fantasy,
Action, and B-Grade Comedy genres. The core narrative focuses on the protagonist's journey to portray
human will and hope through the symbolic '99-times Reinforced' item, amidst a despair-inducing,
gamified world.
The feature-length animated film will be approximately 90 minutes long, utilizing a 2D, 3D, and FX hybrid
production method. It aims to target a wide demographic, specifically audiences aged 15 to 35.
The project is scheduled for release and distribution across various media platforms in the second half of 2027.
